Clean Eating: Week 3

(her highness Monkey, gets all the luxuries)

Straight up....I know I'm late posting and I have to apologise!

Usually I write my posts the night before and schedule them to post while I'm catching some zzzzzz's. Last night I was all ready to hit the keyboard, I walk into my bedroom and Monkey was playing Zoo Tycoon.....I didn't wanna be a meanie and tell her to get off so I could post something.....

So then I had this totally brilliant idea to write the post on my iphone (did you know there's a blogger app??) and about 20 seconds into that I realised my ability to spell on that thing could be a problem....so I gave up and watched a movie!

Anyhooooo...
Today we are talking about clean eating again (or the lack of it in my house)
BIG PROBLEM: I filled up my pantry with lots of crappy food before I decided to be healthy (talk about self sabotage).....we all know where this is going now I've said that right????

You didn't see a post about clean eating last week, b'cos I was making sure all the junk was gone....via my mouth, because I'm too much of a cheap skate to throw or give food away! Luckily we had my sis and her fiancĂ©e visit on the weekend and we went to a party. So I could spread some of that junk around....hehe

This week I'm getting back into the groove and I'll pop by and share some clean eating recipes I've been using with y'all. They're super easy and *bonus* you can freeze some of them and just warm them up when you're feelin a bit lazy!
Truth....I am the laziest person alive, that's why for 2 days a month I cook lots of meals and freeze them, I'm too lazy to cook every night!

I have a question for all y'all before I go......
WHY IS JUNK FOOD SO CHEAP AND HEALTHY FOOD SO EXPENSIVE?
It seems to me we are all being hustled....think about it.....junk food has all this added stuff in it, it's processed, refined and who knows what else. For $100 of junk I get a lot of food.

Healthy food has less stuff added, a lot of it isn't even in packaging and it costs more! I bought $100 of healthy groceries yesterday and there was nothing in the trolley!

Seems to me the people telling us to eat healthy are in lead with the junk food companies....think about it......junk food is cheap and addictive....to get healthy and eat healthy costs more money than sitting on the sofa getting fat.

Little bit of conspiracy theory there (just in case you all thought I was normal!)
Have an awesome week everyone!

  1. First before I forget, thank you for stopping by my blog!
Second. I love your about my page! I can't wait to read some more.
Third, doesn't it suck that junk food is so cheap?! I wish fresh fruit was that cheap, I can't keep it in the house (the fruit that is) because my children go through so much.
    Have a great week. :-)

    1. Thanks Ashley, I had a great time visiting everyone and getting to know some of my readers a bit better. And yeah it does, I spend so much more money on groceries now we are eating healthier...I guess we'll save on doctors and dentist bills in the future though!

  2. I totally agree with you on that conspiracy theory! I've been saying that for years...a bag of cookies costs way less that a bag of apples. I just don't get it. But I do feel full quicker when I am eating healthy food, where as I can eat that entire bag of cookies and still be hungary ;) So maybe it will start to even out!

    1. It's funny Veronica but I actually am hungrier since I started to eat healthy...but as you say, before I would eat an entire pack of biscuits and now I just eat a normal portion size meal, and I'm full enough that I don't eat again until the next meal! I guess I wasn't hungry before because I was being a little piggy...lol
