Your Questions My Answers

Ok, not the best photo (I know). I lost my camera in the rubble that we call "The Spare Room" a few months ago and so now I'm using the phone! I wanted to start this post with this photo because there's something totally abnormal about me that I thought I would share just because....look carefully at the roof behind my head.....I LOVE glow in the dark stars...and I have 'em above my bed! From the cornice down I have a "grown-up" bedroom, but I lay in bed at night and smile at the pretty glowing stars.....do I care that they're not real.....NUP!

Oh and that pink thing you see.....a love note on a heart shape post-it from my baby girl, so whenever I lay in bed I will look up and know she loves me......Jealous??

On that note....

Ha ha....I thought this one was funny, and then I realised "Hey I think this actually says something about me"....and sure enough when I googled it (you think I'm joking!), I was right.....

"If you are looking for someone who is neat and meticulous, is process driven and always on time you need a FOLDER. If you want someone who is creative, can multi task, can handle interruptions, is outgoing and a people person you need a SCRUNCHER."

To answer your question Kenya - I'm a creative, multi tasking, calm, outgoing, sometimes late, un-driven, untidy scruncher and I'm proud of it!

YES YES I am ashamed to admit it, but YES! What's even worse is that I have been known to use my toes when I ran outta fingers...hahaha (wait why am I laughing).

When Monkey was at school I would volunteer to work in the school canteen, and some of the kids would get annoyed with me because I was taking too long...I had to add up their change with my fingers (under the counter of course so they didn't know!).

Hmmm, I love that blogging gives me a creative outlet. I love meeting all these other amazing bloggers from around the world and knowing that we have something in common. I love that blogging makes me feel "connected". I love reading stories from ladies who are just as "crazy" as me and knowing that being normal in overrated.

"What other people think about you is none of your business" - took me a long time to learn this one. I wasted so much of my 20's upset over what my friends had said to others about me, or even what my mum thought of how I was living my life....wasted time because you can't stop people from having thoughts, and you can't change them. These days I care only what God, my daughter think of me (and of course what I think of me).

Whatever anyone else things - that's their issue!

Oh and just because I'm so full of knowledge (NOT).....

1. Smile Smile Smile, especially when you don't feel like it.

2. On a bad day, allow yourself 10 minutes of self pity and then, tell yourself "self stop being a cry baby" and move on, put on some great music or something that will lift you.
3. To have good friends, you have to be a good friend
4. Bake something delicious and give it to a neighbour, just because you can. This always delights my elderly neighbours and it don't hurt that they think we're awesome because of it!
5. Tell your family "I love you" whenever you can, as often you can, and especially when you don't feel much like you do

I would say that I look for friends who aren't afraid to be honest with me...even if their honesty hurts my feelings sometimes, that honesty has to both ways though. I really think that if you don't feel like you can be honest about your feelings with your friends, then how can you call them your friends.

I also look for friends that will stick by me through the hard times. It's easy to be someone's friend when everything is going well, the friends that stick around when your life in going down the toilet are the friends you should hang on to.

(my bestie and I)

My bestie, has to be someone I can be myself with. Someone I don't have to worry about judgement with. She knows all my flaws and yet for some reason, she still loves me. I have two best friends, Annette (who I've known for years now) and my sister, Leasa.

I do the same, I read your blog a few times a week but I don't always comment because usually I read blogs on the ipad in bed at night(while my stars are glowing..hehehe).
